Oh, the hillside is a sweet ride
From the bottom to the top
In the winter roads are slicker
You slide down and you can’t stop
Hear the bells of dear Old Central
Ringing clear throughout the town
See the freighters swiftly gliding
See the bridge go up and down
The wind howls, blows your hat off
And the pigeons do a dance
Pluck the breadcrumbs from your lunch box
‘Neath the street light’s sweet romance
The little lighthouse on the pier
Stands so solemn and alone
In the winter when the tourists
Have all left us and gone home
The train whistles past the Lakewalk
Up the north shore it does go
Past the Fitger’s and the roses
It chugs along so nice and slow
I have read about that great
Unsalted sea of majesty
Oh, the storms and ships and people
Oh, that lake has mystery
Oh, the hillside is a sweet ride
Overlooking that old lake
Stop along skyline parkway
How many pictures can you take?
